BTS Jungkook was born in Mandeok-dong, Busan in 1997. In 8th grade, He participated in the preliminary round of Superstar K3. He didn’t pass the audition, but he left strong enough an impression and was approached by a total of 7 entertainment agencies that saw a great potential in him.
While Jungkook was checking out those agencies, he had a chance to see RM practicing really hard, which looked “Cool” to Jungkook at the time. This prompted Jungkook to decide to sign with Big Hit Entertainment and he’s been with the same agency ever since.
One thing you might not know about Jungkook is that he almost didn’t become a BTS member. A year before making his official debut, Jungkook flew over to the US to learn how to dance. He was absolutely hooked; dancing was so much fun for him, which is why he wanted to stop pursuing the career of a K-pop idol and become a professional dancer instead.
But it was fellow BTS member Jimin who made Jungkook change his mind. Jimin was a high school student at the time, and he bought Jungkook an ice cream one day and tried to persuade him to stay in the group. Jimin said to Jungkook, “Jungkook. You really shouldn’t give up. You’re the most important member of our group.” This conversation between the two members ultimately made Jungkook stay in the group and keep working hard as a trainee and eventually debut as a BTS member.
Right out of middle school, Jungkook was already preparing for his debut. He was so focused on this that he decided not to go to high school because of this. At the time he entered School of Performing Arts Seoul, he was 18, which was a year older than his classmates, and he graduated at 20.
As a student, Jungkook would wear his school uniform, a Rolex Submariner, and burberry shoes. Fans who saw Jungkook around this time called him “the high schooler in the yellow uniform who wears a Rolex.”
BTS debuted in 2013, but it wasn’t until they released the song ‘Dope’ in 2015 that the group started to get some attention.
Now, BTS as a group is practically a major company on legs. After years of hard work, they have become a group that Generates $4.65 billion in Korea’s GDP. According to CNBC, one of the major broadcasting companies in the US, BTS will be bringing more than 37 trillion won to the economy in Korea for the next 10 years.
Housing situation & Real estate
American magazine SEVENTEEN estimated that the net worth of each BTS member is around $8 million. In 2018, Jungkook moved into Trimage, often nicknamed the “Idol apartment”, in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu in Seoul. This cost him 2 billion won, and he made the whole payment without getting any loan. As a matter of fact, BTS member J-hope had already purchased an apartment in this same apartment complex in 2016. Besides these two BTS members, there are a number of other celebrities living in this complex. BTS members also ride on a private jet when they need to travel abroad to hold shows and meet fans outside Korea. The seats in their private jet must be extremely high-quality, because they are known to be $7,500 each.
As soon as he turned 20, Jungkook got a driver’s license. He has a Jaguar XJ, which isn’t exactly a car that the “youngins” usually drive. Some speculate that Jungkook bought this car for his father, but no one knows for sure. It was discovered when Jungkook had a minor-collision last year that he drives a Benz as well. But it hasn’t been discovered yet what the name of the car model is.
